    On September 27th 2017 in Kuala Lumpur the authorities from Jagiellonian University and University of Malaya signed The Cooperation Agreement. The agreement provides the academic staff exchange as well as research cooperation between both of the parties in the future.

    Jagiellonian University was represented by Prof. Adam Jelonek - Rector's Proxy for International Affairs and former Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Malaysia (2010-2014). Furthermore his official visit included several meetings with the representatives from the University Malaysia Perlis and Uttara University with intentions of establishing common academic and scientific relations.

    Prof. Adam Jelonek presented the Jagiellonian University’s achievements, its further plans to expand into Asian countries and also general objectives of the Polish higher education system. The main topic of discussion was the exchange of academic staff (visiting scholars), students and representatives of the university administration. There were also widely discussed the opportunities of join projects, initiatives and university exchange programs.

    The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur actively participated in the meetings of the Rector's Proxy for International Affairs with the representatives of universities. The main purpose was to encourage to closer cooperation with the embassy on mutual promotion of higher education programs and to present opportunities to collaborate with Polish research institutions.

    Nowadays, more than 180 Malaysian students study in Poland, most of them at medical schools i.e. Medical University of Warsaw, Medical University of Lodz, Collegium Medicum of Jagiellonian University.
