    On September 28th 2017 in Kuala Lumpur we celebrated the Polish Armed Forces Day to commemorate important historical moments: 97th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw and 334th anniversary of the Battle of Vienna.

    The meeting was hosted by Defence Attaché of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur, LT. Col. Zbigniew Kołaczek. In the official speech he recalled the significance of the Polish victory in the Battle of Warsaw for the post-war fate of Europe also explaining why the date of August 15th is so important to Poles. While referring to contemporary times, he stated: “to meet the challenges of the modern world are crucial strong, modern and efficient armed forces. We realize that in this world nothing is given forever, so we must be alert, prepared and ready to ensure the freedom and safe future of our nation.”

    The guests of honour were: Rear Admiral (Rtd) Tan Sri Dato’ Seri K Thanabalasingam – 1st Commander of the Malaysian Navy and the Brigadier General Toh Choon Siang - Commander of the 11th Infantry Brigade. The meeting was attended by senior officers of the Malaysian armed forces, representatives of the diplomatic corps and the defence attaché corps.
